SMS vs Email Communication

Over the years, we've found that email was once the go-to for most communication, but it used to be more reliable. Email often gets on the back burner for people like students and guardians who are not glued to a desk job. It needs to be consistently checked, and let's remember important messages sometimes get trapped in spam filters.

Also, we've noticed that emails can sit unread for weeks. This delay can make our communication ineffective when sharing time-sensitive updates.

Example: over the past few years, we noticed Program Directors sending text messages reminding students and guardians to "check your inbox for an important message." This was a pattern of communication we wanted to avoid. 🙂

That's why we've decided to use a 'mobile-first' approach. With CutTime Next Gen, we focus more on text messages, which most folks check frequently. This way, you get our updates quickly and reliably.

And don't worry; we're not giving up on emails. They're still there as a backup communication method, just in case a text message doesn't get through. Learn more about that backup email here.

Finally, if someone struggles to keep a valid cell phone number, they're probably are not checking their emails regularly. But no worries, we're here to help ensure you always stay in the loop, no matter how you choose to communicate.
