Music Library Import Overview
Note: The importer for Music Library is not live yet. If you want to get a head start on preparing your music library data for import, you can use this help document to populate the import template so that it's ready to go when the importer goes live in the future. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at support@gocuttime.com.
To import your Music Library file into your CutTime Music Library, you will first need to populate an import template containing the formatting accepted by our system. See the screenshot below for a list of the available fields in our Music Library, the type of data accepted, and limitations on what data will be accepted by the system.
Step 1:
Click the link below to access our import template. This is a read-only link, so you will either need to make a copy into your own Google Drive (recommended) by clicking File>Make a copy or download and edit the sheet in excel or another spreadsheet editor (not recommended) by clicking File>Download.

Step 2:
Copy and paste your Music Library data from your current spreadsheet into the CutTime import template. The column headers in the import template should not be edited.
Please note: The library_type, ensemble_type, and grade_level columns must contain one of a specific list of values in order to be imported (see table above). The import template has dropdown menus containing these lists, but those dropdown menus will be overwritten if you do a standard Paste function in one of those columns (CTRL+V/Command+V). If you would like to paste data into one of those columns (which is not recommended except for in the grade_level column), please use the Paste Values Only function (CTRL+Shift+V/Command+Shift+V in Google Sheets, right click>paste special>text in Excel) instead.
Step 3:
When you have finished populating your CutTime Import Template, you are ready to download it and share it with out support team for verification. The file will need to be in CSV format for our importer.
- In Google Sheets, click File>Download>Comma Separated Values
- In Excel, click File>Save As and change the format from Excel Workbook (*.xlsx) to CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (*.csv)
Email this CSV file to support@gocuttime.com with the name of your school and one of our support team members will review your file and finalize your import. If there are any issues with the file, our support team would reach out and resolve those issues before finalizing import.
